Ultimate Upgrades

The Residence Inn of Bozeman underwent a $2.5 million renovation. It’s goal was to improve the hotel guest’s experience. Just a few of the upgrades for the hotel included completely new exterior finishes, a redesigned lobby, and new state-of-the-art technology for meeting and banquet spaces.

The Vice President of Verida Group, a hospitality management and real estate development company which purchased the hotel in 2016, said, “These improvements not only provide our guests with a genuine local experience but also enhance their stay in the Bozeman area.”

Levi Clark from CS Structures, the company who completed the renovations, said one of the most unique and challenging factors of this project was working around the public, as the hotel was occupied the entire time. For eight months, they had multiple, daily meetings in order to ensure the work could flow easily without interrupting guests day-to-day experience. Communication was key in making sure the logistics and other pieces of the project flowed seamlessly.

“Bridger Steel was good at working with us to secure the Ultra Batten metal panels. They helped CS Structures in regards to selecting the right panel for the project, and worked hand-in-hand with us to get it accepted. Jacob and the team designed the CS panel so we could get it locally,” said Levi, of CS Structures.

Three Metal Panel Profiles Come Together

For this project, the hotel chose to go with three different metal panel profiles to harmoniously sync to the vision and aesthetic they were after, as well utilize a material that would be able to easily stand up to harsh Montana winters. Metal panel’s strength and durability make them an easy choice for commercial projects like this one.

The first metal panel the Residence Inn chose was Bridger Steel’s 1.75” Tru Snap panel. These panels are ideal for commercial buildings because of their exceptional performance and modern style. Their free floating system allows them to expand and contract with fluctuating temperatures, making them ideal for Montana’s environment. Tru Snap’s range of rib heights and finish coverages make them easy to customize and work with.

Ultra Batten panels, the second profile chosen for this project, were ideal due to their flexibility and adaptability when it comes to design. Their bold ribs mimic a board-and-batten look, without the headache of treating and sealing wood. Low maintenance is one of the biggest reasons to choose metal panels for a project — especially in commercial applications where the focus should be on everything but worrying about annual building maintenance.

Finally, Bridger Steel’s Custom Flat panels were used in order to bring a truly customized look to this one-of-a-kind hotel. We worked directly with the designers and builders in order to bring a custom panel to life that complemented the surrounding area, as well as the other metal panels chosen. Customization is an important part of ensuring your brand can be recognized and can help bring your vision to life.
